The aim of this course is to equip you with the ability to lead a good life as an early-career researcher. This course will provide you with 1. knowledge about basic psychological concepts 2. practical exercises that have been shown to foster well-being. The exact content will depend on student interest; but all of the following topics will be covered to a certain extent: Well-being & Happiness, Productivity & Stress, Memory & Attention, Emotions & Coping with failure, Mental Health & Mental Illness

Target group: Early career-researchers

Prerequisites: Willingness to attend all lectures and to participate in practical exercises

Evaluation: At least 90% of the course have to be attended for receiving a 'Pass' Grade. Participants may miss one class without providing reasons. Additional absences can be compensated by submission of a 1000-2000 word essay per missed class. In that case it is your responsibility to enquire with the instructors about the specific topic. Students who miss more than one class and do not submit the required essay(s) will receive a 'Fail'.

Teaching format: Lectures and practical exercises.
